Inventory Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Inventory Officer will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of the organization’s stock and supplies. This includes receiving, storing, issuing, and reconciling inventory while ensuring compliance with company policies and reporting standards. The Inventory Officer will work closely with the Warehouse team, Procurement, and Finance to support seamless operations and minimize stock discrepancies. This is a full-time role with performance reviews conducted periodically.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory Management:

  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming stock and materials.
  • Maintain proper storage and labeling of items in the warehouse.
  • Conduct routine and surprise stock counts to ensure accuracy.

Stock Control:

  • Update inventory records promptly in physical and digital systems.
  • Track and report stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly stock usage with sales and procurement data.

Coordination & Compliance:

  • Work with Warehouse Officers and Cashiers to ensure smooth flow of goods.
  • Ensure inventory handling follows health, safety, and company standards.
  • Flag and report any discrepancies, damages, or losses immediately.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare inventory reports for management on a regular basis.
  • File and maintain all documentation related to stock movement (receipts, waybills, etc.).
  • Assist in audits by providing accurate and up-to-date inventory records.

Risk Management:

  • Identify risks of stock loss, theft, or damage and propose preventive measures.
  • Ensure proper security measures are adhered to in storage areas.
